PRESS RELEASE: Advent IM Expands Training Academy with New Data and Security Courses

News and information from the Advent IM team.

New courses in AI, data governance, and information security equip organisations with essential skills for today’s dynamic digital and compliance environment.

Advent IM Training Academy has expanded with a comprehensive set of new courses designed to support organisations across sectors in responding to increasing regulatory demands, digital transformation, and information governance challenges.

The new training courses include:

  • Artificial Intelligence Security Awareness Training
  • Data (Use and Access) Act Training
  • Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Training
  • Security Aspect Letters (SAL) Workshop
  • Subject Access Requests (SAR) Training

With the rapid integration of AI across public sector organisations, Advent IM has developed an AI Security Awareness Training programme to help organisations build a strong foundational understanding of artificial intelligence and its implications. As AI becomes increasingly embedded into operational systems, organisations face new opportunities as well as emerging risks – which Advent IM is addressing through targeted, practical training alongside other AI support services such as ISO 42001 AI Management System.

In addition, Advent IM has introduced Data (Use and Access) Act Training, reflecting the need to support organisations with recent changes to data governance. The course is designed for those working with sensitive data or responsible for data compliance, offering practical guidance on applying the new requirements effectively.

Furthermore, the Training Academy has expanded to include; Freedom of Information (FOIA) Training, Subject Access Request (SARs) Training and Security Aspect Letter’s Training.

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Training enhances confidence in managing complex requests by providing in-depth guidance on exemptions, the public interest test, and compliance risk mitigation. The Subject Access Request (SAR) Training supports lawful and effective responses under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, with practical focus on redaction, exemptions, and identity verification. The Security Aspect Letter (SAL) Workshop delivers targeted instruction on drafting and managing SALs in accordance with official standards and security protocols, ensuring organisations meet their contractual and regulatory responsibilities with confidence.

With the increased adoption of Secure by Design across Defence, Government and Police, Advent IM is set to launch new Secure by Design (SbD) Awareness Training and Information Security Awareness Training for Senior Leaders in the boardroom, further strengthening its commitment to accessible, practical training across key areas of digital and information assurance.

With this expanded course offering, the Advent IM Training Academy reinforces its commitment to delivering expert-led, accessible training that supports compliance, security, and effective service delivery in a fast-changing landscape.

Organisations across sectors are encouraged to explore and undertake the new training courses via the Advent IM Training Academy or for more information, contact the Training Academy Team – https://www.advent-im.co.uk/training-academy/
