A growing number of cyber-attacks on key installations have successfully put systems out of action over the past two years, a study has revealed. A survey of security professionals in six countries, including the UK, by the Ponemon Institute found 90% had been hit by at least one successful attack.

Over half a billion personal Facebook records have been publicly exposed to the internet by two third party app developers, according to researchers at UpGuard. The security company claimed in a blog post on Wednesday to have found the two datasets stored in Amazon S3 buckets, configured to allow public download of files.
